College - A paradise of bliss

College life for me I should say was real mediocre; mediocre in terms of the resources to ignite young minds and the system which evaluated me in poor light. The folly of this education system stands exposed at each and every stage. Be it the staff, the infrastructure, and the people who ran the administration. I met many guys who deserved a better place than our college, bcoz the coll was unable to cope up with their thirst for knowledge and moreover the profs aptitude were several notches below theirs.

I should say I got sucked into this system and I am afraid it even continues in the corporate world. The profs and the dept were keen to curb their good work by stressing on two fruitless terms - discipline and academics. I was shocked to see such a reputed institution was encore a
money-making market. People brought into places they don’t deserve and slog and resort to unfair means to get out of the mess; people who terribly fail to apply themselves (sorry to
mention it here a lot of profs including).

The only thing that really brings sweet memories to me abt coll r my friends. Man… I got stuck into a huge bunch of guys. Guys who defy anything they felt was wrong. Many of them had a real ‘rolling moss’ attitude; which i consider will hurt them in the long run. But that’s how they r and I don think they will change themselves. Neverthless I cannot deny all the fun we had together. Then i stood witness to how a lot of love was made and lots more broken. Except for a few people for whom I felt sorry; the rest never failed to amuse me. I used to wonder how they managed to get along and part ways suddenly…. A rush of hormones I guess. ;-)

I always used to wonder how such incompetent people got into such high ranks and manged to hold their place. Isn’t there a way to overhaul the system…. A system which produced better engineers; one which stresses on basics and research; one which employs competent staff…. Until these things r considered seriously the college will be a ‘paradise of bliss’, where ‘fun and frolic’ takes precedence over intended pupose – ‘quality learning’.
